Changdeokgung
We produced digital original restoration video contents for Changdeokgung listed as UNESCO World heritage
based on 'Donggwoldo' of Painting of Eastern Palace of Chosun Dynasty.
Changdeokgung, the only palace listed as World heritage (1997) in Korea,
is the most beautiful palace built by harmoniously blending nature and architecture.
Over 200 years ago, King Jeongjo lived in Changdeokgung Palace.

ChangDeokGung Palace Story by Cultural Heritage Administration of Korean
Changdeokgung Palace was the second royal palace built following the construction of Gyeongbukgung Palace in 1405.
It was the principal palace for many kings of the Joseon Dynasty,
and is the most well-preserved of the five remaining royal Joseon palaces.
Some of the structures inside the palace includes:
- Donhwamun Gate - The main palace gate.
Built in 1412, Donhwamun has a two-story pavilion-type wooden structure, and is the largest of all palace gates.
-Geumcheongyo Bridge - Oldest bridge in Seoul. Built 1411.
-Injeongjeon Hall (National Treasure) - the throne hall of Changdeokgung,
it was used for major state affairs including the coronation of a new king and receiving foreign envoys.
-Seonjeongjeon Hall - An office for ruling officials, the king held daily meetings with ministers,
reported on state affairs and seminars here.
-Huijeongdang Hall - Originally the king's bed chamber, it became his workplace after Seonjeongjeon was deemed
too small for conducting routine state affairs. building.
-Daejojeon Hall - Official residence of the queen.
-Juhamnu Pavilion (Kyujanggak) - Royal libraries stood in this area.
-Yeon-gyeongdang Residence - Built in 1827, it was an audience hall modeled after a typical literati house.
Behind the palace lies the Secret Garden - Huwon which was originally constructed for the use of the royal family
and palace women. The garden incorporates a lotus pond, pavilions, and landscaped lawns, trees, and flowers.
Changdeokgung was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1997.
You can visit 4 palaces and Jongmyo Shrine at a discount ticket price of 10,000 won. It is 14,000 won if purchased separately.

It is close on Mondays.
